Environment Day Program at Gonpada

On 6th June 2022, the Trust celebrated Environment Day at the Dibyo Bani Niketan Campus, Gonpada. The Trust celebrated Environment Day with the Dibyo Bani Niketan Hostel Children and Intensive Computer and Spoken English Course Students by planting 5 saplings in the Campus. Fr. Lawrence D’ Almeida the GNWT Secretary, Fr Saroj Kumar Hess the then Dibyo Bani Niketan Hostel In charge and GNWT Staff were present during the celebration. The objective of this program was to make these children aware of conserving environment and sustainable living. The program began with a welcome address by Mr. Mihir Sing followed by a prayer song by the Intensive Computer and Spoken English Course Students. Fr. Lawrence D’ Almeida addressed the children and put forward the message that change must begin from one’s own home. He stressed on the theme, ‘Only One Earth’ and that all are responsible for its wellbeing. After the message, all participants of the celebration went to the field to plant the saplings. The children planted the saplings and watered it. The program ended with a vote of thanks by Mr Gabriel Mandi after which tea was distributed for all.
