Observation of International Youth Day

On 13^th August 2022, GNWT observed the ‘International Youth Day’ by conducting a youth leadership program in Joyrampur Village. The theme of the ‘International Youth Day’ was ‘Intergenerational Solidarity, Creating a World for all Ages’. The main objective of the program was to give bring together the Youth and motivate them to be the lead others in their village community and work for a better tomorrow. The leadership program started with a prayer song after which the youth were welcomed and a short introduction regarding the day was given to the youth. The program was presided by Fr, Lawrence D’ Almeida, the Secretary of GNWT, Mr. Mihir Sing and Mr. Gabriel Mandi. Fr. Lawrence spoke elaborately about youth, the responsibilities of youth, and the potential of youth. He talked to the youth about the impact that they can make in the community as leaders. He oriented them about leadership and what are the qualities that a leader should have. He also talked to them about the importance of education to be good leaders and encouraged them to come forward in the community and participate in leadership activities. Mr. Gabriel then thanked the participants for gathering for the program. The program ended with distribution of tea and biscuits for all.
