Commencement of COVID-19 Nutrition program for 167 needy children

Taking into account the disruption caused in the community, especially pertaining to the livelihood, health and deteriorating socio- economic status of the inhabitants, the Trust decided to extend 3 months nutritional support to 167 needy children from 9 villages of Tararui GP- 2, Manoharpur GP- 3 and Ranisorai GP- 10 panchayats of West Medinipur district. On 4^th September, 2020 the COVID-19 nutrition programme commenced with a meeting with the animators of 9 centers during which the GNWT Secretary- Fr. Lawrence D’ Almeida elaborated on the purpose of the programme, the responsibilities of the animators, the documents to be maintained and the distribution dates for each center. The programme was planned to improve a child’s accessibility to nutritious food, reduce child mortality and rate of school drop-outs.
