Gonpada Navjeevan Welfare Trust, established in 2018, has been ceaselessly undertaking developmental and animation activities to uplift and mainstream the marginalized and indigenous (Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Other Backward Castes) population of 34 target villages from Manoharpur, Ranisorai and Tarurai Panchayats in West Medinipur district. Since the Trust is in its initial phase and is proposing to expand its activities and make them more impactful, so 5 days exposure visit was conducted for the animators and project staff at Joygopalpur Gram Vikas Kendra, Sunderban from 12th September to 16th September 2021. The organization was selected based on its thematic areas, which is similar to our key areas. The visit helped in gaining practical knowledge about activities in the following thematic areas:
- SHG and Women Empowerment (SHG Formation, Income generating practices for members, enrollment into other governmental activities)
- Education and Skill Development (Tailoring, spice making, cottage industry, knitting, weaving)
- Agriculture and Livelihood (poultry, piggery, goatery, fishery, kitchen garden and mushroom cultivation)
- Health, Water and Sanitation
- Activity and project documentation.
