Flag Hoisting and Dance Competition at Gonapada

On 15th August 2022, the 75th Independence Day, the staff members of Gonpada Navjeevan Welfare Trust along with the staff members of Dibyo Bani Niketan Hostel, Tailoring Students and people from the surrounding villages came together for Flag Hoisting at Gonpada. The Flag Hoisting took place at 9am. Fr. Paras Kujur, the Dibyo Bani Niketan Hostel In-Charge and Fr. Lawrence D’ Almeida the GNWT Secretary hoisted the National Flag. The participants saluted the National Flag and sang the National Anthem. A speech was given by Ms. Maria Soren, Dibyo Bani Niketan Staff on Independence Day and the GNWT Staff sang a patriotic song to grace the occasion. The Flag Hoisting program ended with distribution of sweets to all.
Marking the occasion, the Trust had organised a Group Dance Competition for the children of the villages of Manoharpur, Ranisorai and Tararui Panchayats. The Dance Competition was organised with the objective to give these children a platform to showcase their talents, build confidence and an opportunity to grow and come forward in the community which will help them in the long run. The Dance Competition upheld a patriotic theme. The Dance Competition showcased 15 Dance Groups with a total of 40 dancers, both girls and boys, from various villages Mr. Anindo Sundar Pal the Headmaster of Bejda Primary School, Mrs. Sabitri Das, and Mr. Samir Kumar Pradhan Assistant Teachers of Bejda M.S.K. graced us with their presence. The judges for the competition were Ms. Liya Biswas the Teacher of St. Arnold’s School, Mr. Gopal Chandra Pradhan retired teacher of Bejda Primary School and Sr. Laveen Crasta the Superior of Bethany Sisters. Three groups namely Dantan-1, Nairita Dance Group and Bejda Stars secured 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions respectively. Certificates and Cash Prize was presented to the winners. The winners of the Drawing Competition held on 3rd July in Gonpada were also presented certificates during the program.
