Gonpada Navjeevan Welfare Trust conducted a two-day seminar on Legal Aid for the marginalized population from the villages of Manoharpur GP-3, Ranisorai GP-10 and Tararui GP – 2 of West Medinipur, West Bengal. The main objective of the Seminar was to conscientize the marginalized population about Legal provisions of assistance so that they can ensure justice at the time of emergencies and accidents as they are unable to afford legal representation and access to court system. The main topics that were covered in the Seminar were Legal Aid, Land Rights and Provisions and Laws and Provisions related to Marriage. The resource person for the seminar was Fr. Faustine Brank who has 28 years of experience in the high court. He not only gave the seminar but also gave one on one sessions to those who were facing issues and gave them understanding over the matter and suggested ways they can resolve them. The two-day Seminar was attended by a total of 72 participants altogether.
