Meeting with All India Ho Samaj leaders

GNWT Secretary, Fr. Lawrence D’ Almeida attended an open ended discussion organized by the leaders of All India Ho Samaj group at GNWT office, Bamanpukur on 24th June, 2021 to draw a conclusion to the problems related to ST and SC’s entitlement to the welfare services. The discussion helped to identify drawbacks like- lack of awareness, fear or feeling of inferiority and the act of suppression of the voice raisers that withheld backwards community dwellers from availing the benefits under various socio- economic schemes. The members then collectively decided to write a request letter for the following services addressing the Chief Minister of West Bengal, India requesting provision for:

1. Clean and safe drinking water
2. Construction of proper drainage system
3. Enrollment of ST/SC villagers under MGNREGA scheme
