Observation of Gandhi Jayanti at Gonpada

On 2^nd October 2022, the Trust observed Gandhi Jayanti at Gonpada. Fr. Lawrence D’ Almeida the GNWT Secretary graced the observation along with the GNWT Staff and the children from Dibyo Bani Niketan Hostel. The program began with a prayer song and welcome address after which a short speech about the Gandhi Jayanti and its importance was given by Mr. Ajit Mandi. Flowers and Garland were then offered to the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi to express condolence and respect. Fr. Lawrence spoke about Mahatma Gandhi whereby he gave many examples from Gandhi’s life that could be applied in the daily lives. He also spoke about the importance that Gandhi gave to cleanliness. Fr. Lawrence also elaborately spoke about non-Violence as it was also the International Day of Non- Violence. The program came to an end with the National Anthem. Sweets were distributed to all.
