Participation of Village Youth from Nahapar in Regional Samvaad 2022 Organised by Tata Metaliks

The Regional Samvad 2022 organised by Tata Metaliks Limited was organized seeking to unite the tribal of West Bengal with the objective to create a common platform for various communities to come together, to cater to valuable exchange and cross pollination of ideas, preservation of tradition and knowledge that runs the risk of obliteration, understand and bring forward the issues of tribal communities and highlight and share the models that have worked and solution that can inspire hope and positivity.
Among the 40 enlisted tribal groups that cover 19 districts out of 23 in West Bengal, West Medinipur comes among the key districts with a higher concentration of Tribal Population. Since GNWT has been working among the Tribal Population in three panchayats of West Medinipur namely Monoharpur GP-3, Ranisarai GP- 10 and Tararui GP- 2, and also share the objectives presented by Tata Metaliks, the Trust was invited to the programme. The Trust took 21 youth as participants who come under the Santhal Tribe to perform in the Samvaad. The participants hailed from the village Jhugidi from Nayagram Block. The participants showcased a Santhali Dance and performed with excellence. The participants felt pride in being able to come on such a huge platform and gained more confidence. They also got the chance to interact with tribes from various other places and understand their culture, traditions, and issues. The participants were well appreciated and encouraged.
