On 1st September 2022, UPL (United Phosphorus Limited) a multinational Indian company that manufacturers’ agrochemicals conducted farmers’ meet in collaboration with Gonpada Navjeevan Welfare Trust. The farmer’s meet was conducted with the objective of introducing farmers to new products that can be used to enhance their crop growth. A farmers meet by UPL had taken place 13th July where the farmers were made aware of the first steps to be taken during cultivation while this farmers meet was done to make the farmers aware of the consecutive steps that need to be taken to increase their production as well as growth. There were 35 farmers from the villages of Manoharpur, Ranisorai and Tararui Panchayats were gathered for the meet.
The meet started with a short introduction by Mr. Solomon Sing. Mr. Chandan Jana then addressed the farmers. He introduced products such as Sathi and Hero Gold that were used to enhance the growth of crops by downsizing the growth of weeds around the crops. He also introduced other insecticides that can be used to prevent the destruction of paddy by the insects and pests. The process to use these products and the quantity to be used were all told to the farmers. The farmers meet helped the farmers to understand the need of their crops and to be aware of fake products found in the markets Mr. Chandan acknowledged various questions asked by the farmers regarding cultivation of paddy and answered them.
