On 5th of September, GNWT observed the Teacher’s Day with great zeal. GNWT has been conducting Remedial Classes and Spoken English and Computer Courses among the students of the Target Villages of Manoharpur GP-3, Ranisorai GP-10, and Tararui GP-2. The students of Spoken English and Computer Course organised a celebration at Gonpada for their teachers and honoured them with their performances and gifts and the students from the four Remedial Centers namely Bejda, Sayapara, Nahapar and Salajpur gathered to put up a celebration at Salajpur Club House. The photo Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was honoured and adorned with flowers in both the celebrations. The GNWT Staff had organised a short program for the teachers of Shakharidanga Primary School which is situated in Shakharidanga Village, a remote and backward area. The GNWT Staff went to the school and felicitated the teachers in appreciation for their hard work and contribution. The GNWT Staff presented them with pens and sang a song for the occasion. Ms. Prerna, a spoken English student also presented a song for the teachers. The GNWT Secretary gave a speech on the importance of Teacher’s Day and appreciated the teachers at the school. The program came to an end with the distribution of sweets. On 6th of September, Teacher’s Day was celebrated at Manoharpur Tailoring Centre and Rajnagar Tailoring Centre. The tailoring students from both the centres honoured and adorned the photo of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The tailoring students from Rajnagar Tailoring Centre performed four dances and a group song. They felicitated their tailoring teacher Mr. Khakon Kr. Sahoo and the GNWT Secretary Fr. Lawrence D’ Almeida. The GNWT Secretary spoke a few words on the value of a teacher. The program too came to an end with distribution of sweets.
